35 Weeks Bumpdate
Hi babes! I've been putting my blog on the back burner once again because we have been so incredibly busy lately but it's all for good reason! We moved to a new home in Bakersfield and we are finally getting settled in! It took a while to find the perfect place (which I had to come to terms that the perfect place doesn't exist unless you're a millionaire) but now that it is our home, it is the perfect place for us! I will definitely have to post pictures of our home once I feel like it's complete! We actually got a ton done within the last week but there's a few finishing touches I need to do! Kollyns' room is almost completely finished but Boston's big boy furniture won't be here until next week so we will start on his room then. Boston has just been sleeping in Kollyns' room for now. I'm a little nervous how he will be transitioning to a big boy bed but at least we have Kollyns' crib for him to sleep in until she's a few months old (but hopefully it won't take him that long).
I am now just five weeks shy of my due date and it hit me the other day that Boston is no longer going to be my only baby. It was weird how real it finally felt! Super exciting but a little nerve racking to think about! I am looking forward to all those newborn snuggles I will be getting. I miss the days of getting the excuse to just sit down and relax while I hold and nurse a baby. I'm not the best at just sitting and relaxing but having a newborn makes you take that time to really just decompress. I'm sure I won't get to just lounge on the couch all day with her (like I did with Boston) since I now have Boston to chase after and play with but watching him love on her will be worth all those exhausting days! At 35 weeks, Kollyns is over 5 pounds and about the size of a honeydew melon. Girlfriend is just a movin' and a shakin'! I had an ultrasound last week and her head was down and we couldn't see her face.
It's so funny because we moved to Ventura when I was 36 weeks pregnant with Boston and now we moved at 34 weeks with Kollyns. I guess I better expect another move if I plan on having another baby since that's the way it seems to go! My water broke two days after we moved to Ventura with Boston and everyone thinks that the move was what set me into labor so we were all nervous for this move. We knew Kollyns still needed to do some cookin' so I tried to be more cautious about exhausting my body. My feet and hips were and are still super sore from the move but Kollyns is still in there so that's a good sign! I've been cramping and having major pressure which makes me feel like she will be here soon but who knows! These babes have a mind of their own!
I started packing my hospital bag and washing all of girlfriend's blankets and outfits this week. Everything is so much cuter when it's itty bitty! I can't wait to dress her up!
I got our disc of finished maternity pictures back yesterday and I'm so in love with how they turned out! My photographer, Courtney McLemore, is so amazing at what she does! You can find her on Instagram @dearjudephotography. I had to share some of my favorites with you all below! Hope you all like them as much as I do!
