This weekend we celebrated little miss Kolly's 1st Birthday! I had been pinning and planning this party for what felt like months. And I'm not gonna lie, I was a hot mess all last week. I just felt like I had so much to do and not enough time. We ran all of our big errands for the party on Friday and also did the setup for the party that evening. I really should have ran all of my errands before Friday but I was waiting for my mama to get back from the beach so she could go with me. We were up until midnight setting up and then finished what we didn't get done on Saturday before the party. I had the party at my parent's house because they have a pool and when you live in Bakersfield, you really can't do much during summertime without a pool.
I, of course, HAD to have a pineapple themed party for Kolly. It only made sense. Anyone who knows me, knows I have always been pineapple obsessed. Britt (my sister-in-law) and I called ourselves the piña girls in high school and we have always collected all things pineapple. Our 30th birthday is next month and we're throwing a "Party Like a Pineapple" party for it so I wasn't sure if I wanted to do two pineapple parties in a row but I literally couldn't talk myself out of throwing a pina party for Kolly. So I did it. And I'm so glad I did! Pineapples have become so popular in the last year or two so it's pretty easy to find cute pineapple party decor...making my life a whole lot easier!
The party was a complete success! What's more important than all the decor is that the kids had fun. My older niece's set up a couple tables and did face painting and tattoos and then the kids all played, ate and swam. I know Kolly won't remember the party but kids remember good memories and bad memories. And this was definitely a good memory! Besides, parties are totally Kolly's thing! She was such a good sport and had an absolute blast!
